The web is getting simpler. That’s the worrying part.
Security surprises, oversized HTML, and fewer excuses for extra libraries

Somewhere between “just ship it” and “rewrite everything,” the web is having a moment. Security advisories keep landing, markup keeps growing, and browsers are finally doing things we once needed JavaScript gymnastics for. Progress indeed, just not the tidy kind.
![]() | A mere hour after Justin Slack and Schalk Venter spent an hour reflecting on the unprecedented level of outages and security problems across the web during 2025, Next.js announced yet two more React Server Component exploits. We will likely share less security-related news in 2026, not because the situation has improved, but because it will likely worsen, and we want to avoid turning into the “Web Security Feed.” |

Junior Developers Need New Skills in the AI Era – Here’s Why | ![]() |

Looking for an opportunity to break into tech?
As AI reshapes what’s expected of junior developers, real-world experience is becoming essential. The KRS Internship Bootcamp 2026 is a full-time, in-person programme in Cape Town that helps emerging developers build practical, job-ready skills.
